This Privacy Policy explains how LiveLayer (“LiveLayer,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the LiveLayer desktop application, the livelayer.ai website, and related services (together, the “Service”). It should be read together with our Terms of Service.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information — your email address and password when you create an account, and your account identifier.
- Billing information — when you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and processes your payment details. We do not store full payment card numbers; we receive limited billing status and identifiers needed to manage your subscription.
- AI prompts and generated media — the text prompts you enter for AI music, the music you generate, and related metadata.
Information created on your device
Your video files, raw telemetry, GPS coordinates, and project files are processed on your device and are not uploaded to us in the ordinary course of using the Service. Some features transmit limited data to operate — for example, map overlays request map tiles for the area of your route through our servers, and AI features send your prompts to our AI provider (see AI features and your prompts below).
Information we collect automatically
- Usage diagnostics — if enabled, the desktop app sends anonymous usage events (such as which features and overlays you use and export outcomes), tied to a random install identifier and session identifier, and your account identifier when you are signed in. These diagnostics exclude your video file names, file paths, GPS coordinates, raw telemetry, and email address. You can turn diagnostics off in the app.
- Device and technical information — operating system, app version, and similar technical details needed to provide updates and support.
- Website analytics and advertising — on the livelayer.ai website we use cookies and similar technologies, including analytics and advertising tools, as described under Cookies and tracking technologies below.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including authentication, billing, AI generation, storage of your AI media, and sharing;
- process payments and manage subscriptions and AI Studio Credits;
- improve and develop the Service, including through aggregated, anonymized diagnostics;
- communicate with you about your account, security, updates, and changes to our terms;
- protect the Service, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms; and
- comply with legal obligations.
3. AI features and your prompts
When you use AI music generation, your prompt is sent to our third-party AI provider (Google) to generate the music. We operate on a paid tier under which the provider states that prompts and outputs are not used to train or improve its models. Generated music carries an inaudible SynthID watermark identifying it as AI-generated.
Generated music and its metadata are stored in our cloud storage and database so the music is available across your devices and, if you choose to share it, at a public link. Your use of AI features is also subject to our Terms of Service and the provider's policies.
6. Data retention
We retain account, subscription, and AI media records for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You can delete individual AI tracks at any time, which removes them from your library and our storage. If you close your account, we delete or de-identify associated personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.
7. Data security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices and rights
- Diagnostics — turn anonymous usage diagnostics on or off in the app at any time.
- Account and content — access and update your account information, delete individual AI tracks, or close your account.
- Marketing — opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link, where applicable.
- Access and deletion — request a copy or deletion of your personal information, subject to legal limits, by contacting legal@livelayer.ai.
9. California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (CCPA/CPRA), gives you rights to know what personal information we collect, to access and delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We do not sell personal information for money. Our use of website advertising and analytics partners may constitute "sharing" under California law; you can opt out by adjusting your cookie choices and by using a Global Privacy Control signal where supported. To exercise your California rights, contact legal@livelayer.ai. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Categories of personal information we may collect include identifiers (such as email and account or device identifiers), commercial information (such as subscription and transaction records), internet or app activity (such as usage diagnostics), and, to the limited extent processed for maps, approximate location derived from your footage.
10. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children, and you must be at least 18 to use it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact legal@livelayer.ai.
11. International users
We are based in the United States and process information there. If you use the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries, which may have different data-protection laws than your own.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice — such as by email or through the Service — and update the "Last updated" date and version below.
